Randomness:: Just a heads up!▲
Let me start off by saying that I’ve been on Tumblr pretty much this entire day, and as I was sitting here on my bed in the dark, when I realized that I still had no posts on my blog. Last night, I decided that I wanted, yet another, fresh start for my blog, so I deleted all of my posts. I had done the same thing about 4 months ago, promising myself that I would make my blog more “personalized” and less reblogs, but obviously that only worked for about a week or so and I was back to old habits. Don’t get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with reblogging, I honestly love reblogging things that are of interest to me, but as I browsed through about 30 different blogs within this last week, I’ve noticed that about 90 percent of the content on every blog was the same and there was little to no personalized content. Now, on the other hand, alot of people didn’t create a Tumblr to be “personal”; but I feel as though with each individual Tumblr there should be a unique and distinct personality, IMO.
What really prompted me to change the direction of my blog, was Jay (jaycruzin.tumblr.com/). I stumbled upon his blog through Shana (kneehighsandlove.tumblr.com/), [BTW, if you are not following either one of them, you need to pause right now and go check them out, but then again just wait because I guarantee that you will lose track of time once you do.] as I scrolled through his blog and read some of his posts, he was basically saying how he felt that many people on Tumblr lacked originality, and I noticed that after reading his blog for about an hour I felt like I sort of knew him in a way and I rediscovered that “personalized factor”….if that makes any sense at all.
Basically, to sum this post up (because I’m rambling and it’s getting way too long), the direction of my blog is going to change. So this is just something like a warning; there will be more words than pictures now and it’s for the better. And if at any point, you decide that you’re really not feeling it, I won’t be mad if you unfollow. I won’t be upset simply because of the fact that when you began following me I was one way, and now I’m headed in a completely opposite direction. But if you give it a chance, I promise you’ll love it.
i may do the same. lately i’ve been feeling like my blog is just a collection of beautiful images with no depth. there is more to me and my interests than the photos snapped by strangers and the occasional ambigous posts that i create. at this point i have just over 600 followers but is this the whole “goal” of tumblr? post a bunch of images that are already on every other blog and attain followers? umm. well anywho i’d like to take a more personal approach. you can unfollow me if you don’t like this new approach..don’t worry i won’t be mad. lol but now i wonder if i should just make a new page all together..?
